AND SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES
The Clinic
for Infectious Diseases is the only academic institution in R. Macedonia,
responsible for education of students of medicine and dentistry in the
subject of infectious diseases. The first
lectures in infectious diseases were given in 1950 by prof.d-r
A. Ignjatovski, internal medicine specialist. From 1952-1954
assigned educator was doc.d-r M. Nikolic, followed by
H. Mancev (1955/65) and doc.d-r D. Arsov
(1957). In 1960 the Medical Faculty established the Department of Infectology,
as a separate department and prof. d-r Savo Mironski
was the appointed professor, followed by prof.d-r Ilija Trajkov
(1986/87). The
Department of Infectology plans, governs and implements the educational
program for the subject of Infectology for students and interns. The Department
provides the means for continuing medical education by organizing lectures,
seminars, training courses, congresses, as well as publishing of science
papers and organizing lectures by international experts. The
Chamber of Doctors of R. Macedonia accredits the congresses, expert lectures,
science meetings and seminars, training courses as well as all other activities
of the Department in the KME system. Appreciative
to the activities of the member of the Department, the Clinic for Infectious
Diseases already employs the EBM (evidence based medicine) standards in
